As a Turnaround Operator, you will support the control of field work hazards during shutdown and start-up of new and existing equipment and process systems.
Responsibilities:
- Issue work permits to maintenance and other contractors for piping and equipment repairs and alterations (ensuring work is safe to commence.)
- Identify all operational preparations (e.g. isolations) required prior to work commencing.
- Ensure Work Permits are clearly reflective of what precautions needed to be taken during the work, including use of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment.
- Support Operations field activities (process unit activities).
- Maintain daily shift permit logs and performing proper shift handovers as required.
- Maintain, file, and store hard copy materials per company procedures.
- Attend monthly safety meetings for the assigned unit/crew and make recommendations to improve the reliability, safety, and quality of plant operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum ABSA 4th Class Power Engineering required.
- Minimum 8+ years Process Operating Experience.
- Previous experience in Refinery/Upgrader, commissioning, Turnaround, and start-up activities.
- Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Safety conscious attitude.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license (abstract of driving record required).
