The Role

We are looking for a Plant Operator for the plant in Jacksonville, Florida who will operate and monitor the natural gas amine and liquification process systems for LNG and monitor plant conditions and the operation of equipment. The Plant Operator will also maintain records regarding equipment, tank levels, and high temperature machinery.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain natural gas amine and liquefaction process systems for a liquefied natural gas plant.
  • Monitor the loading/offloading of LNG at an LNG plant and a marine fueling terminal.
  • Maintain a single person rotating shift (7/7) encompassing all holidays and weekends, on shift operator is required to perform all duties to support operations, including unscheduled callouts, overtime, and travel between both the plant and terminal facilities.
  • Control the operation of equipment and processes for the liquification of natural gas, including transfers of liquefied natural gas to storage tanks.
  • Monitor the plant & terminal operating conditions from a main control room and respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Recognize operational problems, analyze, and adjust process variables.
  • Work with high pressure gas, cryogenic liquids, high temperature machinery, and high voltage switchgear.
  • Record daily, weekly & monthly data, observe and document temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and prepare accurate reporting.
  • Maintain communications with other personnel and supervisor, monitor operations, and assist other personnel and contractors when required.
  • Assist with LNG transfers at the terminal, while maintaining compliance, regulatory, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain records required for regulated facilities (DOT 127 & 193), including procedures, inspection and maintenance records, along with emergency response & security manuals, as well as personnel training.
  • Oversee the safety and security measures at both facilities, while monitoring and controlling plant access.
  • Evaluate facility alarms and appropriately resolve those conditions at both facilities.
  • Maintain plant and terminal appearance, housekeeping, and records.
  • Assist with, or perform, plant equipment maintenance as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, or GED.
  • Three (3) years of natural gas or process operations experience required.
  • Prior fuel transfer experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with PHMSA & USCG regulations preferred.
  • Forklift operator certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule (days/nights) to support 24/7 operations.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.

Desired Skills And Competencies

  • Ability to interpret and use P&ID’s.
  • Familiarity with DOT, NFPA, OSHA, and PHMSA regulations.
  • Computer console (HMI) monitoring experience.
  • Ability to work conditions involving heat, cold, and loud noises.
  • Mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work safely ascend and work at elevated heights (top of LNG tank).
  • Ability to maintain and promote good working relationships within a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, decision making, and strong work ethic.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and general knowledge of mechanical and control systems.
  • Mathematical proficiency, and computer skills with experience in Microsoft office platform.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and manage multiple tasks under potentially stressful conditions.
