1. JOB DETAILS:
Position Title: Lead Operator: Production Operations
Broad Band: M09: Professional
Talent Pipeline Layer: Managing Self Technical/Professional
2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure continuous, effective and efficient plant/production operations by controlling or operating chemical processes, systems and/or machines, with strict adherence to safety and operational regulations, rules and procedures
3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Qualification:
1. High school certificate
2. Maths and Science is desirable
3. Formal Production/Process qualification highly preferred (e.g. National Diploma)
Experience:
6 Years relevant experience
Skills:
- Acute safety awareness and attitude
- Extensive experience of shutdowns and start-ups
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
- Sound understanding of the value chain
- Advanced knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Sound knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods
- Advanced knowledge of machines, tools and equipment, including their designs, uses, repair, and first line maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of policies, rules, processes and procedures
- Competent in using applicable industrial control software and/or systems
- Highly competent in troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions
- Advanced understanding of specific section’s processes and procedures
- Advanced knowledge of Ma’aden’s safety codes, regulations, rules and procedures
- Controlling operations of equipment and/or systems
- Critical thinking
- Sound management skills
- Effective facilitating skills
- Up-to-date compliance training
- Full physical mobility, including ability to work at heights or confined spaces
- Effective verbal and written communication (incl reporting)
