Responsibilities and Key Objectives:
- Assist in operating DCS / PLC, fire and gas and ESD systems and will help optimize the process and reduce and control plant upsets.
- Assist in responding effectivity to emergencies.
- Assist to ensure that the plant inhibits, and overrides are controlled as per procedures.
- Must strive to gain the knowledge to be capable of covering the CRO position as well as Plant Operator positions as required.
- Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility Systems.
- Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc) within operating requirements.
- Trouble shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volumes, to identify problems.
- Monitor and operate electrical control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices for Fire and Gas.
- Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required by company.
- Implementing and enforcing GKPI Management System policies and procedures in particular Isolation Standards and Permit to Work.
- Carry out all operations in safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Report all discharges, leaks, spills, injuries, and incidents, immediately.
- Assist maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.
- Assist / Supervise operation of PTW system.
- Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
- Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.
- Coordinate activities and resources across teams or shift.
- Contribute to training of personnel in all positions.
- Create and maintain effective working relationships with all departments.
- Remotely operate and monitor process and utility systems.
- Prepare process and utility systems for shutdown.
- Isolate and reinstate process and utility systems for maintenance and repair.
- Contribute to control of critical situations and respond to emergencies as requires and requested.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Must hold Technical or Engineering degree relevant to the position.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sour Hydrocarbon processing operation.
- Good level of troubleshooting and operations knowledge including interpretation of P&IDs and C&E charts.
- Good level of Production Operations, including Production, Maintenance, Engineering and HSE.
- Good knowledge of DCS / PLC and F&G systems operations.
- Must be able to communicate well verbally and written in English.
