Position:
Field Mechanical Supervisor
Reports to:
Project Manager/Construction Manager
Goals:
Field Mechanical Supervisors will ensure that contractor daily productivity is met, that the project is being executed as per CCED specification and drawings, that the ongoing work is safe and up to the required quality and will be the link between contractor and office based project team to close any open issued and technical queries that contract may face during the execution of the project.
Responsibilities:
Supervises the mechanical activities at site as pipelines and flow lines installation, Station and EPF piping works, piping modifications, equipment installation, etc.
Identifies variances to the project.
Implements corrective actions.
Accomplishes construction projects and activities by defining project purpose and scope; Calculating resources required; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders..
Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Enhances organization reputation; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Establish & maintain high staff morale. Model sound leadership and teamwork.
Schedule delivery of needed materials and labour requests.
Trouble-shoot and identify construction problems; offer timely and safe solutions.
Ensure project proceeds in a timely manner.
Manage tool and materials inventory for each project. Ensure unused materials are accounted for and reported to the Well Sites Construction Leader.
Complete necessary reports and meet at daily with Well Sites Construction Leader to discuss construction progress.
Qualifications
Degree in mechanical, 10 years of experience can compensate the degree.
Positive attitude and willingness to equip and encourage the contractors
Excellent communications skills.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical construction with excellent hands-on construction skills.
Experience in supervising construction projects.
Ability to take over the construction from contractors if they failed to deliver.
The ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary
The willingness to accept other job responsibilities as needed.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
Understanding of proper safety procedures and recognition of hazards.
Knowledge of green construction and the Cradle to Cradle philosophy
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and other construction software
Ability to organize time, material and contractors
The ability to multi task
Valid vehicle driving license.
