Key Responsibilities/Duties:

·         Single point responsible for all discipline design services to Company, ranging from conceptual, front-end, detailed design, as-built and close-out.
·         Execute discipline front end and detailed design input to engineering projects. Execute technical support studies as requested. Provide engineering support to the construction / commissioning phases as necessary.
·         Manage the process and conceptual engineering teams. Ensure optimal balance of experience and capability in conceptual, front-end and detailed design phases. Manage a multi-disciplinary conceptual design team to produce highest quality conceptual designs.
·         Possess breadth and depth of experience to provide fundamental challenge to established engineering design processes; evidence delivery of innovative technical solutions.
·         Establish the actual (as opposed to design) capacities and capabilities of existing field facilities to identify bottlenecks and scope for optimisation.
·         Act as technology focal point for all engineering. Collate and evaluate potential new technologies from all disciplines.
·         He/she shall report to the Unit Process Discipline Lead and Country Manager. 
Candidate Specification
Essential Candidate requirement
·         Degree in Chemical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng/M.Sc).
·         Membership of internationally accepted applicable professional Institute (preferred).
·         Minimum 15 years experience in the design and specification of upstream oil & gas facilities with extensive experience in conceptual studies, front end and detailed design.
·         Fully conversant with relevant International (ANSI, ASTM, API, BSI, IP, ISO, IEC, IEEE etc.) standards.
·         Minimum of 5 years experience as discipline Lead engineer.
·         Experience with International standards, experience with QP / Shell Group standards is strongly preferred.
·         Field experience in construction & commissioning is strongly preferred.
·         Proven ability to communicate, delegate, and motivate the discipline team.
·         Possess the potential to develop into a multi-disciplinary engineering manager, as a minimum.
·         PC literate.
·         Good interpersonal & communication skills and an extrovert. Shall be able to form, smoothly interact and motivate a team within a matrix type organisation.
·         Single point responsibility for the integrity and quality of all work within the discipline.
·         Provide detailed engineering input during all design phases, including interpretation and challenge of standards.
·         Prepare requisitions and technical evaluation of bids for discipline material and equipment procurement.
·         Review and control any discipline design work carried out by third parties (vendors or sub-contractors).
·         Ensure equipment vendors provide timely and quality input into design packages. Review all third party discipline design work.
·         Lead discipline specific design reviews (HAZOP, SAFOP, IPF etc) and participate in other discipline design reviews as appropriate.
·         Provide highest quality discipline input into conceptual design teams.
·         Ensure design packages meet the relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.
·         Participate in and sometimes lead, discipline design reviews.
·         Lead discipline engineer for specific projects, managing discipline design teams of designers and engineers.
·         Ensure effective communication and interface definition between all disciplines for design development, review and check processes.
·         Identify potential applications for new technology in discipline area.
