ELECTRO-MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for all day to day maintenance activities, including organising maintenance contractors of a newly built 7MWe ORC Turbine Unit, two biomass boilers and all the auxiliary and ancillary plant used to support the burning of waste wood fuel and production of power.

As Electro-Mechanical Technician you will be performing maintenance functions associated with all main and auxiliary plant at Holbrook Biomass to enable it to meet the generation and availability targets, safely, efficiently and in an environmentally sensitive manner.

You will be expected to have a flexible and hands-on approach to work with a can do attitude, working closely with the operation & maintenance team leader, you will be able to demonstrate a wide experience in the up keeping of a large boiler plant, electricity generators, flue gas treatment equipment and their associated auxiliary systems. Prior to the plant becoming operational and soon after joining, you will be required to assist with commissioning activities.

MAJOR DUTIES

To be aware of and work within company Health Safety and Environment and Quality systems
Environmental reporting of incidents to line management
Housekeeping
Diagnosing and repairing faults on an extensive range of biomass electrical/mechanical equipment
Carry out Root Cause Analysis and play an active role in investigating recurring faults and engineering solutions
Carrying out Planned preventative & reactive maintenance Identification and purchase of essential maintenance spares Preparing procedures and risk assessment for maintenance tasks To liaise with operation staff as appropriate
Takes ownership of problem and solution Planning and carrying out improvement projects Supervision of maintenance sub-contractors
Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management
Work on all the sites Mechanical/Electrical assets including pumps, motors, compressors, ORC
turbine, moving grate thermal boiler and materials handling plants
You will accurately record maintenance using a CMMS to help plan future maintenance activities
Assist in creating an effective planned maintenance systems
Work on a call out rota to respond to site out of hours during emergencies and work occasional weekends during planned outages
Stock control of site maintenance and spares
