Stena Drilling Ltd. Currently have an exciting opportunity for new and recent Graduates on our Operations Engineer Trainee (OET) Programme commencing in 2020. Successful applicants will benefit from a comprehensive training programme that will see them gain first-hand, practical experience of offshore rig operations on board one of our world-class drilling vessels. Over the course of the three-year training programme, the OET will participate in several roles across all disciplines on our vessels including:

  • Safety Officer
  • Deck Hand
  • Floor Hand
  • Derrickman
  • Assistant Driller
  • Trainee Driller
  • Forward Planner
  • Subsea Engineer
  • Dynamic Positioning Officer/Barge Engineer
  • Mechanic/Hydraulics Engineer/Electrician

This offshore experience will be complemented with onshore exposure where the OET will work with the Operations Management Team in the day to day management of the fleet to gain a broad perspective on the management of operations within a modern Drilling Contractor. Onshore roles will include assisting with:

  • Statistical analysis of fleet HSE/Operational Performance
  • Operational planning
  • Rig design and modification
  • Contract tendering and compliance
  • Rig importation
  • Procedural and Programme review
  • Regulatory compliance
